A new Application Program Interface (API) has been launched earlier this month by the EGA developers.

This new feature enables not only performing EGA submissions via a REST environment, but also retrieving the metadata or building your own EGA-powered applications to suit your necessities. The API provides a simple, predictable, standardised, resource-oriented, RESTful interface that, returning JSON-formatted responses, allows the creation, edition, deletion and validation of objects and entire projects. This technology embraces built-in HTTP features, which makes the API easily managed with off-the-shelf HTTP clients. Every request to the EGA API can be easily performed by curl command line.
