Study Description
Through whole genome sequencing, this study will explore the mutational profiles and signatures within an angiosarcoma tumour from a patient with xeroderma pimentosum. Very little information is known about this tumour type and it has not previously been studied within the context of xerogerma pigmentosum.

Whole genome sequencing (WGS) detects all mutations in a cancer. “Mutational signatures” are patterns of mutations that report the DNA damage and subsequent DNA repair processes that have occurred in cancers. We present a patient with Xeroderma Pigmentosum that developed metastatic angiosarcoma, unresponsive to all lines of sarcoma therapy. Primary tumour WGS revealed a hypermutated tumour, including clonal ultraviolet light-induced mutational patterns (Signature 7) and subclonal signatures ... (Show More)
