Profiling of human fecal microbiota for succinate consumption
The objective of this study was to identify the bacterial taxa responsible for succinate consumption in human gut microbiomes. We enriched fresh stool from healthy donors in growth medium with and without supplemented succinate. We then measured metabolite concentrations and bacterial composition in the stool and enrichment samples.
