Defining Human Inner Ear Development: HIEDRA snRNAseq Atlas and Inner Ear Organoid Refinement
We present the Human Inner Ear Development snRNAseq Atlas (HIEDRA), a single-nucleus transcriptomic resource spanning fetal weeks 7–15. HIEDRA captures key events such as cochlear and vestibular sensory differentiation and secretory epithelium formation. It identifies novel markers distinguishing cochlear and vestibular lineages, implicates specific signalling pathways in secretory cell differentiation, and maps disorder-associated genes to vulnerable cell types. This dataset provides a foundation for modeling inner ear development and disorders, supporting regenerative and precision medicine.
