Collection of Genotypic and Ethnographic Information from Individuals of South African Ethnic Groups

Whole genome sequencing data of 84 Nama individuals with KhoeSan ancestry from southern Africa in phased VCF format. Variants were called/phased as part of the African Genome Resource. The data has been aligned to GRCh37.

Qualified researchers can request access to the data by completing a Data Access Request form which will be evaluated by the Data Access Committee who wil consult with a community representative, the Health Research Ethics Committee of Stellenbosch and the Stellenbosch University Contracts Office.

Qualified researchers can request access to the data by completing a Data Access Request form which will be evaluated by the Data Access Committee who wil consult with a community representative, the Health Research Ethics Committee of Stellenbosch and the Stellenbosch University Contracts Office. Data access will be for approved use and will be governed by the provisions laid out in the associated informed consent of individual data subjects and of the Health Research Ethics Committee of Stellenbosch University. All investigators will have to sign a Data Transfer Agreement as stipulated by the Stellenbosch University Contracts Office. A qualified researcher refers to a senior investigator who is employed or legitimately affiliated with an academic, non-profit or government institution and who has a track record in the field. Researchers granted access to Project Data must feedback the results of their research to the Data Access Committee, after publication for distribution to the community representative. Access is conditional upon availability of data and on signed agreement by the researcher(s) and the responsible employing institution to abide by the policies and conditions related to publication, data ownership, data return, intellectual property rights, data disposal, ethical approval, confidentiality and commercialization referred herein.

Studies are experimental investigations of a particular phenomenon, e.g., case-control studies on a particular trait or cancer research projects reporting matching cancer normal genomes from patients.
