RNA-seq of iPSC-derived oligodendrocytes of individuals with and without t(1;11) translocation
This dataset contains high-throughput RNA-sequencing of 14 samples, each sample comprising oligodendrocytes derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells, from individuals with and without a balanced t(1;11) translocation which substantially increases risk of major mental illness. 5 samples derive from 2 control individuals, and 9 samples from 3 individuals carrying the translocation. Libraries were prepared from each total-RNA sample using the TruSeq Stranded Total RNA with Ribo-Zero kit. Libraries were then sequenced using the NextSeq 500/550 High-Output v2 (150 cycle) Kit on the NextSeq 550 platform. Raw paired-end sequencing data is stored in two FASTQ files per sample.

University of Edinburgh may terminate this agreement by written notice to the User Institution. If this agreement terminates for any reason, the User Institution will be required to destroy any Data held, including copies and backup copies. This clause does not prevent the User Institution from retaining these data for archival purpose in conformity with audit or legal requirements. 16. The User Institution accepts that it may be necessary for the Data Producers to alter the terms of this agreement from time to time. As an example, this may include specific provisions relating to the Data required by Data Producers other than University of Edinburgh. Dr Owen Dando and Professor Giles Hardingham are collaborators and have been involved the RNA sequencing analysis of this study. Specific limitations on areas of research The data from the RNA sequencing study is for the Family and Population Genetic Studies in Mental Illness. This includes the study of neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders in these family samples. Minimum protection measures required Under the conditions of the ethics approval for the ‘Family and Population Genetics Studies in Mental Illness’ genetic sequence data can be available for other researchers in the field to use under a system of managed access that strictly protects confidentiality. Clinical details of the study participants will be held separately by the investigators. File access: Data can be held in unencrypted files on an institutional computer system, with Unix user group read/write access for one or more appropriate groups but not Unix world read/write access behind a secure firewall. Laptops holding these data should have password protected logins and screenlocks (set to lock after 5 min of inactivity). If held on USB keys or other portable hard drives, the data must be encrypted. University of Edinburgh anticipate that the dataset could be useful to other qualified researchers for a variety of purposes. However, some areas of work are subject to a publication moratorium. The publication moratorium covers any publications (including oral communications) that describe the use of the dataset. For research papers, submission for publication should not occur until either the date on which University of Edinburgh publishes a paper relating to this dataset or 18 months after these data were first made available on the relevant hosting database.. In any publications produced by the User Institution based on these data, please describe how the data can be accessed, including the name of the hosting database (e.g., The European Genome-phenome Archive at the European Bioinformatics Institute) and its accession numbers (e.g., xxx), and acknowledge its use in a form agreed by the User Institution with University of Edinburgh.
Studies are experimental investigations of a particular phenomenon, e.g., case-control studies on a particular trait or cancer research projects reporting matching cancer normal genomes from patients.
