Approved Users will not attempt to identify individual research participants from whom data was obtained or use the data for anything other than the approved research project. Approved Users will protect confidentiality and follow best practices security protocols.
Any user requesting access to the IVF Retrospective Study data must apply for authorization, which is approved by the IVF Retrospective Study Data Access Committee. Decisions to grant access are made based on whether the request for controlled-access data is consistent with the data use limitations for the data set. Any Approved User accessing the IVF Retrospective Study data must adhere to the following: Approved User will not attempt to identify individual research participants from whom data was obtained Approved User will only use data for approve research project Approved User will protect data confidentiality Approved User will acknowledge the applicable accession number(s) in any publications or oral or written presentations. All Approved Users agree to manage the access-controlled data using best practices such as those set out by the NIH in their NIH Security Best Practices for Controlled-Access Data Policy including physical security measures and restricted access policies. Approved Users agree to notify the IVF Retrospective Study Data Access Committee immediately if a breach of security occurs. All Approved Users agree that they have obtained appropriate training to educate them on the proper handling of human data (e.g. human subject training, HIPAA training). Approved researchers must retain control of the controlled-access data and any Data Derivatives and cannot share or transfer the data or Data Derivatives to an individual or entity not listed on the access request.
Studies are experimental investigations of a particular phenomenon, e.g., case-control studies on a particular trait or cancer research projects reporting matching cancer normal genomes from patients.
