• Assessment of Complex Chromosomal Changes in De-Identified Cell Lines

  In this study, we obtained DNA from the Coriell Repository from individuals with complex chromosomal changes. The database ("Chromosome Abnormalities") of these de-identified samples contains 1,366 individuals as per https://www.coriell.org/1/NIGMS. We started with 16 individuals in this pilot study that we will hopefully expand out in a potential large NIH grant using information derived in this pilot study. De-identified samples were sequenced using internal funding from Washington University in St. Louis. In this study, its depth and quality was substantially enriched and we conducted the phasing analysis in human lung cancer genomes.   In continuation of our whole-exome and targeted sequencing study on non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer, we carried out this targeted paired tumour/blood sequencing study including 78 Ta stage bladder cancer patients. Agilent’s SureDesign tool was used to design a 1.133 Mb SureSelect custom capture for all coding exons of the 140 selected candidate genes.

• Exome Sequencing of Spanish Patients with rare genetic diseases.

  Whole exome sequencing of Spanish patients suffering from a rare genetic disease. The study was carried out in 2013 as a part of a public call from CNAG (Centro Nacional de Análisis Genómico), where data of eight spanish families were sent to analyse. The study concluded with three solved cases: two of aniridia and one syndromic RP.
