• Transcriptomic Profile of Colorectal Cancer Samples

  Samples encompass primary colorectal tumors or metastasis of 75 patients, collected by Medical Pathologists from surgically removed specimens. Tissues were embedded in optimal cutting temperature (OCT) medium, snapshot frozen in liquid nitrogen within 40 minutes of collection and preserved at -80ºC.   The National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health [Add Health] is an ongoing longitudinal study of a nationally representative U.S. cohort of more than 20,000 adolescents in grades 7-12 (aged 12-19 years) in 1994 followed into adulthood with five interviews/surveys in 1995, 1996, 2001-02, 2008, and 2016-18. Add Health was designed to understand how social environments and behaviors in adolescence are linked to health and achievement outcomes in young adulthood. Add Health contains unprecedented environmental, behavioral, psychosocial, biological, and genetic data from early adolescence and into adulthood on a large, nationally representative cohort with unprecedented racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and geographic diversity. Add Health has a large, multidisciplinary user base of over 50,000 researchers around the world who have published over 3,400 research articles. Add Health is housed at the Carolina Population Center of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Add Health datasets are distributed according to a tiered data disclosure plan designed to protect the data from the risk of direct and indirect disclosure of respondent identity. Add Health's large sample size, population diversity and rich longitudinal database of psychosocial, physical, and contextual data will permit investigation of an exceptionally broad range of phenotypes with known genetic variation. Prospective longitudinal measures are available to document change over time in each of these phenotypes, as well as change in the social environment and life experiences, making the Add Health sample ideal for understanding genetic linkages with health and behavior across the life course. The original design of Add Health included important features for understanding biological processes in health and developmental trajectories across the life course of young people, including an embedded genetic sample with more than 3,000 pairs of adolescents with varying biological resemblance (e.g., twins, full sibs, half sibs, and adolescents who grew up in the same household but have no biological relationship), testing of saliva and urine for sexually transmitted infections and HIV, and biomarkers of cardiovascular health, metabolic processes, immune function, renal function, and inflammation. Add Health therefore has critical objective indicators of health status and disease markers in young adulthood, well before chronic illness or its complications emerge in later adulthood. Because DNA has been collected on the full sample at Wave IV, it is possible to link genetic profiles with social, behavioral, and biological measures over time from adolescence into adulthood. Add Health sampled the multiple environments in which young people live their lives, including the family, peers, school, neighborhood, community, and relationship dyads, and provides independent and direct measurement of these environments over time. Add Health contains extensive longitudinal information on health-related behavior, including life histories of physical activity, involvement in risk behavior, substance use, sexual behavior, civic engagement, education, and multiple indicators of health status based on self-report (e.g., general health, chronic illness), direct measurement (e.g., overweight status and obesity), and biomarkers. No other data resource with this expanse of genotype and phenotype data on a large nationally representative longitudinal sample with race, ethnic, socioeconomic, and geographic diversity exists.   ObjectivesThe objectives of the Stressors and Health Study were to: (1) examine the prevalence of stressors and health outcomes and (2) assess differences in the associations between multi-level stressors and health outcomes, and (3) explore the protective and adaptive factors in the associations between multi-level stressors and health outcomes. Background Stressors have been posited to explain disparities in health. However, no surveys to our knowledge have simultaneously collected multiple stressors at various levels and the coping strategies used to deal with these stressors. Measuring these factors can provide a better understanding of the stressors experienced by specific groups and the impact that these experiences have on their health and health practices. In addition, exploring the various resilience and coping strategies employed to deal with stressors can help design appropriate interventions to reduce health disparities. Participants Participants included 1000 White, 1000 Black or African American, 1000 Latino or Hispanic, 1000 Asian, 500 American Indian or Alaska Native, 500 Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 500 mixed or multi-race adults (≥18 years) across the United States. Design The Stressors and Health Study is a cross-sectional online survey of adults across the US. A sampling frame (target population) of US residents based on the American Community Survey (ACS) was constructed using a rigorous two-step sampling matching approach to establish national representation.

  This is a family-based genome-wide association study of congenital left-sided cardiac lesions (LSLs). Cases with LSLs and their parents were recruited from the Cardiac Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia between 1997 and 2010. The discovery dataset included 405 LSL case-parent triads. DNA was extracted from blood or saliva samples from these subjects and genotyping was conducted using the Illumina Infinium II HumanHap550K array (V3). This study was conducted with approval from the Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and all research subjects provided either written informed consent or, when appropriate, assent.

• The Diabetes Heart Study (DHS)

  The Diabetes Heart Study is a family based study enriched for type 2 diabetes (T2D). The cohort included 1220 self-reported European Americans from 475 families (Bowden et al 2010 Review of Diabetic Studies 7:188-201: PMID: 21409311; Bowden et al 2008 Annals of Human Genetics 72:598-601 PMID: 18460048) and included siblings concordant for T2D; where possible unaffected siblings were also recruited. The cohort was recruited between 1998 and 2006. Participants were extensively phenotyped for measures of subclinical CVD and other known CVD risk factors. Primary outcomes were quantified burden of vascular calcified plaque in the coronary artery, carotid artery and abdominal aorta all determined from non-contrast computed tomography scans.

• The Gut Microbiome in Parkinson's Disease

  The uploaded data come from a nested case-control study, with participants with Premotor Parkinson Disease (PPS) as cases. In addition to the PPS cases, the study has three control groups: 1) constipation only controls, defined as those who only reported constipation, but not probable REM sleep behavior disorder (pRBD) or hyposmia; 2) healthy controls  who did not report constipation, pRBD or hyposmia; and 3) patients with recently diagnosed confirmed PD (diagnosed after January 1, 2010).  Participants were contacted between 2016 and 2020 for a set of two stool samples. All participants provided a baseline stool sample and a subset (N = 120) will provide a second stool sample.
