Epigenetic Heterogeneity in Breast Tumors with Implications for Disease Diagnosis and Monitoring
This study investigates epigenetic heterogeneity in human breast cancer using complementary single-cell and bulk epigenomic approaches. Human breast tumor samples were profiled using whole-genome bisulfite sequencing, enzyme-mediated methylation sequencing of sorted tumor-cell populations, single-nucleus CUT&Tag, and single-cell RNA and chromatin-accessibility multiome profiling. These data were used to characterize recurrent epigenetic cell states and intra-tumor heterogeneity in breast cancer.
