IBS-M RNA-seq raw data
The data set consists of fastq raw files from RNA-seq of seven mucosal biopsies of the colon from seven patients, among them three patients with irritable bowel syndrome with mixed type symptoms. Paired end sequencing on Illumina NovaSeq 6000 was used.
- 7 samples
- DAC: EGAC00001001834
- Technology: Illumina NovaSeq 6000
Data will be accessible only upon request of researchers and reviewers.
In the course of the study, biomaterial (intestinal tissue) was collected and analyzed. These samples can only be identified by a code, so the identity of the patient is not disclosed. After coding, the samples are sent by the study physician to the laboratory (ICP) for analysis. The samples were destroyed after RNA-sequencing analysis. Data will only be accessible upon request of researchers and reviewers. Data protection risks during processing: Every time data from biomaterials is collected, stored and transmitted in the context of research projects, there are confidentiality risks (e.g. the possibility of identifying the patient), especially with regard to information on the genetic material. These risks cannot be completely ruled out and increase the more data can be linked, especially if the patient himself publishes genetic data on the internet (e.g. for genealogical research). The study management assures you that they will do everything possible to protect your privacy in accordance with the state of the art. This includes a corresponding contractual assurance of the protection of the purpose and confidentiality by the cooperation partners.
Studies are experimental investigations of a particular phenomenon, e.g., case-control studies on a particular trait or cancer research projects reporting matching cancer normal genomes from patients.
