Request Access

IDIBELL 2026

The data in this dataset are pseudonymised genomic, biologic and/or health-related data derived from research participants, made available for research purposes only. To request access, the requestor must first submit a written proposal to the IDIBELL Data Management Unit (datamanagement@idibell.cat) including: 1) applicant investigator information (name and surname, institution, postal address, telephone, e-mail); 2) reference dataset/study (EGA Study and Dataset accession numbers); 3) description of the project (title, PI, abstract/summary, detailed objectives and results); 4) list of the full team/staff who will have access to the data and in what capacity; 5) approval of the project by the ethics committee; 6) purpose of use of the data and how the data will contribute to the project; 7) full legal name and address of the institution where the data will be stored; 8) contact details of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the receiving institution; 9) conditions of data retention and storage, including location, type of storage and security measures; 10) where applicable, the intention to transfer personal data to a recipient in a third country or international organisation; 11) the period for which the data will be retained after use or, where not possible, the criteria used to determine this period; 12) what will be done with the data after the end of the project; 13) whether the study/project or any of the results derived from the use of the data will be used for the creation of products for non-academic purposes; 14) whether the data or project results will be shared with any third parties. This dataset has full epidemiological data associated. Access to that data is subject to a collaboration agreement between the institutions. The IDIBELL Data Access Committee will evaluate the proposal and decide whether to grant access. If approved, the requestor's institution must execute the Data Transfer Agreement (DTA) provided by IDIBELL, signed by its authorised institutional representative; access will not be granted until the DTA is executed. Once the DTA is executed, the requestor shall request access to the data at the EGA platform, which will be granted through the controlled-access mechanism of EGA. The data may only be used for the approved project, must be stored securely at the receiving institution, and must not be re-identified, transferred or shared with third parties without prior written consent. Any data breach must be reported to IDIBELL within 24 hours. The data must be deleted at the end of the project unless retention is required for audit or legal purposes. Studies are experimental investigations of a particular phenomenon, e.g., case-control studies on a particular trait or cancer research projects reporting matching cancer normal genomes from patients.
