  This prospective observational study aims to advance our knowledge of the natural history and abnormal alteration in vaginal microbial flora, and to identify risk factors that are associated with these changes. A total of 5500 healthy, non-pregnant women of reproductive age will be enrolled and followed up in Birmingham, Alabama, for one year (baseline visit plus once every three months afterwards, totaling 5 visits). Detailed information on sociodemographic status, medical history, hygiene practice, sexual behavior and psychosocial stress will be collected through in-person interviews. Routine gynecological and dental examinations will be carried out during the study visits. Samples of vaginal secretion and blood will be collected. Laboratory tests to quantify vaginal microbial flora and to identify infection of bacterial vaginosis as well as common sexually transmitted diseases will be conducted. Future submissions may contain metadata or molecular data from additional subjects.

  The Stress and Treatment Response in Puerto Rican and African American Children with Asthma Study (STAR) was a 6-week study of response to inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) in youth aged 8-20 years recruited at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Center and UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh from June 5, 2018 to May 16, 2022. At a baseline visit, participants completed questionnaires and underwent collection of nasal specimens. After nasal sampling, participants were treated with daily medium-dose inhaled Mometasone for 6 weeks, with adherence measured using a dose-counter. Spirometry and fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) measurements were conducted at baseline and after 6 weeks of ICS. • Nanopore sequencing from liquid biopsy: analysis of copy number variations from cell-free DNA of lung cancer patients

  Molecular cancer paper (https://doi.org/10.1186/s12943-021-01327-5): This dataset contain shallow whole-genome sequencing (sWGS) of plasma cell-free DNA from cancer patients and healthy subjects, obtained with both Nanopore and Illumina technology. A total of 6 cancer patients and 5 healthy subjects have been sequenced with Nanopore; 4 of the cancer patients have been also sequenced with Illumina. In addition, genomic DNA from white blood cells of one healthy subjects, genomic and 160bp DNA from HEK cells have been sequenced with Nanopore. Genome Biology paper: 3 additional healthy samples have been sequenced (HU), two different bioinformatic pipeline were applied. 2019: Fastqs from the molecular cancer paper were re-demultiplexed and adapter-trimmed (using guppy for multiplex samples, and porechop for singleplex) preserving 5' ends to allow fragmentomics analysis.   A total of 61 patients (33 mild and 28 severe) with a median age of 51 years who recovered from COVID-19 were included in this study (Table 1). All collected samples were confirmed in diagnosis of COVID-19 by RT-PCR and positive IgG serolog.   Single cell RNA libraries were prepared using 10x Genomics Chromium Next GEM Single Cell 3’ v2 reagents. The samples were barcoded and each library were pooled with two samples at equimolar concentrations. The pooled libraries (n=4) were sequenced on the NextSeq 500 machine (Illumina) with paired-end sequencing and dual indexing as recommended in the manufacturer’s protocol; 26 and 98 cycles for the respective Read 1 and 2, and 8 cycles for i7 index.

The dataset includes 46 exon CNVs in BRCA1, BRCA2, TP53, MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2, EPCAM and PTEN, giving excellent representation of the cancer predisposition genes most frequently tested in clinical practice.
