  The OPPERA project is investigating effects of genetic, physiological, psychological and clinical factors on the risk of developing painful temporomandibular disorder (TMD). This case-control study is a discovery-phase genome wide association study that aims to identify commonly-occurring genetic variants associated with chronic TMD. It represents the first step in a series of studies that seek to identify the genetic background of TMD.   The Integrative Genomics and Environmental Research of Asthma (IGERA) Study was proposed to collect immortalized cell lines, RNA, cDNA and DNA from 400 well-characterized subjects who participated in the southern California Children's Health Study (CHS) and to develop an accompanying database for these samples consisting of extensive phenotype, exposure, genome-wide genotype, gene expression, and methylation data. A subset of Hispanic-White participants (n=160) were included in the TOPMed project, including 77 asthma cases and 83 controls.

  Human populations in Africa are the most genetically diverse in the world, having a rich history, and yet are severely understudied. The purpose of this study is to understand the population history of four ethnolinguistic groups in northern Kenya - the Turkana, Samburu, Rendille, and Borana. This study aims to measure the extent of variation among several genetic systems in these populations, with the goal to better understand the broader population history in northern Kenya and to add to the current knowledge of population genetics in Africa.

  The Cleveland Clinic Atrial Fibrillation Study consists of clinical and genetic data of patients with atrial fibrillation and control cohorts from the Cleveland Clinic CV/Arrhythmia Biobank, including the Cleveland Clinic Lone Atrial Fibrillation GeneBank. The Cleveland Clinic Lone AF GeneBank Study has enrolled patients with lone AF, defined as AF in the absence of significant structural heart disease. The CV/Arrhythmia Biobank has also enrolled participants with non-lone atrial fibrillation. All patients provided written informed consent.

• A Large-Scale, Consortium-Based Genomewide Association Study of Asthma

  We carried out a genomewide association study by genotyping 10,365 persons with physician-diagnosed asthma and 16,110 unaffected persons, all of whom were matched for ancestry. We used random-effects pooled analysis to test for association in the overall study population and in subgroups of subjects with childhood-onset asthma (defined as asthma developing before 16 years of age), later-onset asthma, severe asthma, and occupational asthma.

• Fixative optimisation study for BRITROC project

  The British Translational Research Ovarian Cancer Collaborative (BriTROC), spanning more than 10 centres across UK, is a prospective observational project focused on relapsed high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC). The first study, as a part of the project, is the Fixative optimisation study, which analyses the utility for next-generation sequencing of UMFIX samples compared to NBF-fixed and fresh frozen samples. Various DNA and sequencing quality analyses were performed to compare fixation methods in bulk tumour and biopsy samples.
