The healthy controls were age, sex, and body mass index (BMI) matched with the FH patients. After inclusion, FH patients fasted for at least 9 hours before blood samples were drawn for lipid measurements and monocyte isolation. This was repeated after 12 weeks of lipid-lowering therapy.
